A Post For Voiceless Refugees

Refugee

The suffering.
Perhaps, we could says that the poor life is suffer. Yes, they are suffers financially, but they are still having loved family. Living in uncertainty, being marginalized, without adequate access to health and food. They are also human like you. Then, how the sufferings of someone who lost the loved ones and didn't know where to stay because of no countries accepting them officially. Can you imagine it ?

According to UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees), Article 1 A (2) of the 1951 Convention and Protocol Relating to the Status Of Refugees, the term "refugee" shall apply to any person who:
As a result of events occurring before 1 January 1951 and owing to wellfounded fear of being persecuted for reasons of race, religion, nationality, membership of a particular social group or political opinion, is outside the country of his nationality and is unable or, owing to such fear, is unwilling to avail himself of the protection of that country; or who, not having a nationality and being outside the country of his former habitual residence as a result of such events, is unable or, owing to such fear, is unwilling to return to it.

In this opportunity I hope the countries that did not yet ratify the 1951 Convention above, willing to do it.

I quote a very interesting comment from Rummuser, in my post Give Your Voice For Refugee, as follow:
"....India is already an overpopulated country. So far it has accepted these refugees and tried to get them to be better off than they were before they left their countries. Now, with terrorists being identified from among the so called refugees, a back lash is building up and there are fears that the problems can only get worse. If the countries of origin of these people would do something about keeping them in their own countries, it would help!!"

How you think about the matter of terrorist among refugees? How to solve it?

  3. Homo homini lupus. Only human in this planet earth able to do something hurt to their own species.
We create an imaginary border called nation only to show the world that we're different. And by doing this, some member of human race didn't have 'place' anywhere in this world.
What is the different anyway? Who are we to judge they didn't belong here or there?

...every human being has worth value and dignity, and when a party refuse it there would be a chance that somebody become so called 'terrorist' to regain his/her dignity...so let's give respects to everybody...don't ever include reasons of race, religion, nationality, membership of a particular social group or political opinion in our paradigm when we have to interact with somebody....
    warm regards

  15. What creates a terrorist in the first place? Being marginalized from society. Perhaps we need to reach out to these people and bring them back into society somehow. Is that possible, or is it too late?

  18. dear Sir,
about the problem of terrorist among refugee, I ever learned about the case like this.
as long as I study I recognize the concept of complex humanitarian emergency (CHEx). CHEx is a phenomena wheres not only war that occur but, followed by other phenomena like mass displacement, hunger, death, diseases endemic, and the other violation. and most important of this is those phenomena is not natural but MAN MADE.
So, it can be concluded that the existence of violence or unsecure condition in the world now is a constructed by the people. people who really want to create the violence just for their interest or politics. so there's a political motive here.
like chidl soldiers or civilians abusive in Africa, sometimes some groups creates it just for instrument of their politic.
I think it is same with the case of refugee that you wrote. the existence of terrorist maybe replacement the refugee just for their political instrument or increasing their political opportunity. But it just my argument, I dont know the truth.
    thank you for posting this

Fair by Logic or Feeling: A Test of Wisdom

The definition of "fair" according to the Cambridge Dictionary : treating someone in a way that is right or reasonable, or treating a group of people equally and not allowing personal opinions to influence your judgment . Well, that's the ideal. But can idealism always be implemented into practice effectively? The answer is not necessarily yes. A few days ago, I was chatting casually at a coffee shop with friends. One of my friends told a story about parents who divided their wealth between their two sons. Both sons had their own families, but their financial conditions were very different. The first son was quite wealthy, while the second son was relatively poor. Their parents gave the larger share to the second son. This made the first son feel he was being treated unfairly. He felt his parents favored his younger brother. This story steered our casual conversation toward the topic of fairness. There were two opinions. First, their parents should divide it equally to be...

Is Multipolar World Really a Global Democracy

The United States stood alone as the world’s sole superpower after the Soviet Union collapsed, where one dominant player wields the vast majority of military, economic, and cultural influence. We call this circumstance as unipolar world . That is essentially one setting the rules for everyone else. But if you look at the news lately, that single-power dynamic is slowly shifting, especially since the rise of China. We are moving towards a multipolar world - a setting where power and influence are distributed among a few major powers: the US, China, and Russia . Global stage now is like a game of throne. Their intense competition will be reshaping our world to multipolarity. Given these realities, I have a big question that might spark some debate. Is a unipolar world actually a " global authoritarianism "? Is a multipolar world really a " global democracy "? I'm interested in looking at it through the lens of the availability of choice. Some people argue that a ...
