Reflection From Hunger For Us

I found a video through Mel Avila Alarilla's blog. This video is truly very touching and with humility I want to share with you, a tragedy of humanity. Chicken A La Carte - written, photographed and directed by Ferdinand Dimadura. A short story about the hunger and poverty brought by globalization which shows a forgotten portion of society. The people who living to survive from human trash but still grateful.

During life, do you ever felt hungry? How it feel? Did you stomach ache? A simple question for reflection! Maybe in your heart will say that I can only make this post and doubting to the real act. Well, I want to say that in the blogging world, here's what I can do and differ from what I have done in the real world, especially because I ever had experience where I only could eat once a day when still young and living in a city far from family. Felt hungry and ashamed to request from parent because I have grown. That was my unforgettable memories, never forget it. So, now I am truly grateful to God with what I have, even God gives more to me, especially a loving wife and a cute baby. My message to you : "Don't waste your food"

Do not feel low-self with what you have now because there's still a lot of people under you. Conversely, there is still the sky above the sky. If you feel touched by this post, with humility please spread this video on your blog by your own writing.

  2. this video is touching.
however, birth control (in indonesia we call it as KB) is indeed important to reduce the burden of the parents. the family has 3 children and 1 baby to come. it would be easier if they have only 2 children.
in my case, my company serves us lunch. i indeed see so many wasted-food everyday. that's why i always take the food by myself, not more than i can have. i did try to influence other to do so, but not easy.
this is a nice posting, tikno! thanks for nice reminder to all of us.

  4. Bikehikebabe,
Perhaps you better don't eat too much for your health. Maybe food nutrition balance is a better way.
About the video above, I'm not sure (don't want to know) about the ethnicity. First, I'm not the authors. Second, I only know that the video has influencing me for realizes the meaning of life.
If you ask for myself, the answer is yes.

    Yendoel,
Birth control program is good but does not guarantee 100%, and the baby is a gift from God.
People said that hunger come from poverty, and poverty come from low skill, low education, lazy, and perhaps the destiny.
I like how you appreciate food, not take more than we can eat.

    Naoto Matsumoto,
I'm happy for you. I like your blog about "Tao" because many deep thought there.
I have never been to your country (Japan) but I often use the "Made in Japan" here.

  5. I saw this from Mommy Rose's blog last week. I was crying while watching it. My daughter asked me why then I told her not to waste food because many have nothing to eat.

  6. I always tell kids in our family to eat everything they had on their plate and don't waste a thing. I used to say to them that we are grateful to have food and don't be picky since lots of people don't have much to eat and we'll just be thankful of what we have.

The kids is watching this with me and somehow learned another important lesson. Later, I won't be surprise if they can share what they have to the poor.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts about this issue. I would love to grab this sometime and post it in my blog.

  12. Hi tikno:)

Very interesting post. You have portrayed Hunger in a very powerful way.

Yes, I have felt hunger pangs when I was working and I had to meet a deadline. I used to work without having food. I know I can always make it up later.

There are millions of people who are dying of hunger and starvation in this world. We have to focus on helping them.

    Have a lovely day:)

  17. Hey Tikno, just been through your video. Must say, I felt like crying after watching it. This is just one sad truth of our society where we are one witnessing one harsh reality - the growing gap between the rich and the poor. This gap is increasing day by day and its high time that something is done for them.

Its great to see people like you coming forward and letting others know about it. hope it makes some difference :)

Baduy tribe and Presidential Election

I'm glad that the presidential election in Indonesia on 8 July 2009 has run well, not like the presidential election in Iran. Although there were some protests from some parties, but I think that was the dynamics of the life of democracy itself, like the small ripple in the wide ocean. Perhaps cyclone in the middle of ocean can be analogized to what has happened in Iran. So, regardless the winners or losers, the most important is Viva Democracy! Because I'm not interested in political matters, then this post is more to the interesting story that I read on Jawa Pos newspaper printed-edition dated 9 July 2009 (written in 2 series), that is, all Baduy tribe who was part of inner Baduy community (sub-groups of Baduy tribe) was not gave their vote in the presidential election in order to follow their tradition / custom . In the Ciboleger village, there was provided a voting-booth for 6,325 eligible voters from total 11,170 Baduy people. But, until 13:00 o'clock no one from inne...

The inner voices when I am get old

One day in January 2010, I visited my grandfather (father of my mother) and my grandmother (grandmother of my wife). I can feel how happy they are with my presence, as well as myself. I can see despite their spirit remain alive but I can not deny that their physical ability has decreased naturally. So I start to think how if I'm getting old like them. While thinking of it, suddenly my mind remembered a touching story that was discovered by my family. Whatever I have feel and imagine, I pour it into this post. Hopefully your love to the elderly and your parents will be more. When I'm get old. When I spilled vegetable broth on my clothes, when I no longer remember how to tie a tie, when I no longer remember how to tie shoelaces, remember the time how I teach and guide you to do that. While I am senile and constantly repeating the word that bores you, please be patient to listen to me, do not interrupt me, in the days of your childhood, with affection I kept repeating a fairy tale...

Starting in July 2021, Google has announced to stop the email subscription service powered by Feedburner. As we know that the "Follow By Email" widget on Blogger is powered by Feedburner which is owned by Google. That means any new post published on Blogger platform after June 2021 (including from this blog) will not be sent to the subscriber's email automatically. For that reason, I moved the email subscription service on this blog to " Follow.it ". Please click the Subscribe menu at the top to proceed. After that, an email will be sent to you asking for confirmation (please check your inbox). This is to ensure that you are the owner of the email and not mistype the email address.
