Messages from golden wedding anniversary

The wedding anniversary was historically derived from Roman empire tradition, where husbands crown his wife with a silver wreath on their twenty-fifth anniversary, and a gold wreath on the fiftieth anniversary. In the present, generally, it called silver wedding anniversary for 25th years of marriage and the golden wedding anniversary for 50th years of marriage. Many people dream of their wedding will be lasting but many of them also fail.

For those of you who dream of it, then there is a philosophical message from a modest golden wedding anniversary, a pieces of dialog between emcee and bride, as follow :

Emcee : (jokingly) "What is the most annoying thing from your husband?"
Bride : "As many as the stars in the sky, unable to count them"
Emcee : (shocked) "Well, but your husband's kindness is also abundant, right?"
Bride : "A little, like the sun in the sky"
Emcee : (curious) "Then why you could live with him for half a century and still love each other?"
Bride : "Because once the sun rises, all the stars in the sky become invisible"
Emcee : "Amazing!" (and standing applause from invited guests)"

That's the message. We let you to conclude it.

    2. Well.. why do you need my prayer? :D

For me marriage is an endless journey, full of adventure. So it must be enjoyed.

Don't think too much about whether or not you will reach silver or gold or diamond anniversary. A number is just a number. It doesn't show anything.

We don't get married because we want to make a record. If we are happy, then it is already an achievement, a huge one.

    3. "Why?" As a believer I think your prayer is important, don't you?
Btw, I like your last sentence above, mate.

Love and hate in science.

Have you ever loved or hated someone? One must be very pleasant, and the other must be very unpleasant. You definitely want the unpleasant ones to be thrown away or forgotten. But both still remain in your memory.

Religious teachings and motivators certainly give advice to forget things that are not good. Maybe you consider it a normative suggestion. In philosophical viewpoint there are those who say that love and hate are thin difference. Love can be hateful, and vice versa. Buddhist philosophy says that everything in the world is temporary. But I want to try from a scientific viewpoint to explain this philosophical view.

Love and hate have in common, both are equally unforgettable memories in our brain. But over time, both of them will gradually fade after we become senile, as the brain cells that save the memories of both love and hate will going death one by one. At this stage you already do not have a sense of love and hate anymore. You are slowly return to Alpha from Omega. Of c…

What a PhD mean for you

What is Ph.D.? Yes I know it is a prestigious academic degree. Only that? Hmm... I think NO. It's hard to describe it in words. You better focus on the illustration below:

And... the things that made me fall silent is what was said by Matt, below:
If you zoom in on the boundary of human knowledge in the direction of genetics, there's something just outside humanity's reach. My wife and I chose to start funding these graduate students after we learned that our son has a rare, fatal genetic disorder. It may be too late for my son, but it's not too late for other children. Even one child suffering is one child too many. The only way to end this kind of suffering is science. And, the best way to do science is through graduate students.

What a beautiful thoughts that touched my heart.

Kartini's Day and Indonesian women

Recently on April 21 the Indonesian nation commemorate Kartini's Day. Actually Kartini's Day is similar to Mother's Day (celebrated in Indonesia on December 22) or International Women's Day. Perhaps to understand Mother's Day you need to understand a person in your life called Mother, and for the International Women's Day and Kartini's Day perhaps you need to understand the person in your life called wife or sister. If you are underestimating women then firstly you need to look at your mother. Am I wrong?

In short: That is all for women. In wider meaning: That is how these special Day to further raise the awareness of Indonesian society or even the world - especially the women themselves - about women rights, their struggle for equality, and their important role in various spheres of life. This is also an occasion for Indonesian women to review how far their struggle get acknowledgment especially from the point of view of Indonesian traditional society who…

Effects of internet technology advancement

The rapid advancement of information technology has changed many aspects of human life today, the good and bad things. Within this post I limit on two aspects to make this post not too long to read. The aspects that most get my attentions.

I really enjoy when gather together with friends while drinking beer in real world, Cheers! OMG... truly an emotional excitement sensation that I never found or feel it in the virtual world like Facebook, Instagram, and any social media whatsoever.
