Vote now for the idea that help the most

Last year, Google has started a project called Project 10^100 (pronounced "Project 10 to the 100th"), invited the world to submit ideas to help as many people as possible. During submitting period, they have received more than 150,000 ideas from 170 countries, and now has been narrowed down to (combined into) 16 brilliant ideas that are considered best for you to vote. I have voted for the idea to make educational content available online for free, and I quote its description below:

Make educational and course materials more accessible online to students worldwide. Lots of educational content is not indexed or accessible on the public web. Various users have proposed finding ways to help content owners put formerly exclusive content online, including offline materials (lectures, textbooks, videotaped workshops) and limited-access materials (scholarly papers, research dissertations); help teachers themselves become more available online (access to online profs, 24/7 homework help, cross-country study groups); and to make all this material and academic help accessible through both computer and mobile platforms.

Your vote will help the advisory board to identify the best ideas for further consideration and choose up to 5 projects to fund. They have committed $10 million to make up to 5 of them become reality by identify (choose) the relevant organization that are in the best position to implement them. If you think that your organization would be a good candidate then you should let them know.

Despite the submission deadline has passed but voting to the ideas that you like is still open until 8 October 2009. Now, it's your turn to vote! Hopefully this brilliant ideas will be come true and make a different to our living. That is why I felt more Google than Gates. Btw, is there any idea to overcome climate change?

It's great to see a platform that allows people to vote for ideas that can make a difference in the community. By voting for the idea that helps the most, we can prioritize the needs of our community and work towards improving the lives of those who need it most. Participating in this kind of democratic decision-making is a powerful way to contribute to the greater good and make a positive impact. So, let's get involved and vote for change!

Islamic law - whether it is about a choice

Before you continues to read this post, please read the brief history of Aceh , until Tsunami disaster happened and finally get a special autonomy right from Indonesian central government. For years the Indonesian military has struggle to fight against what we call Gerakan Aceh Merdeka / GAM (English: Free Aceh Movement) who want to establish an Islamic state and impose Sharia law in Aceh province. This proves that Indonesia do not wanting Islamic state system because Indonesia is a country based on the laws (national law), democratic, consist of various ethnic groups, has 6 official religion, with national motto: Unity in diversity, not an Islamic state that implement Sharia law. However, this war has caused many casualties and was not offering the civil order, harmony, and security for millions of civilians in Aceh. I say thousands of victims as a side effect of war, not just a matter of the position of a woman as reported by Jakarta Globe with the title " Women Unfit to Lead,...

Kartini's Day and Indonesian women

Raden Ajeng Kartini On April 21 each year the Indonesian nation commemorate Kartini's Day . Actually Kartini's Day is similar to Mother's Day (celebrated in Indonesia on December 22) or International Women's Day. Perhaps to understand Mother's Day you need to understand a person in your life called Mother, and for the International Women's Day and Kartini's Day perhaps you need to understand the person in your life called wife or sister. If you are underestimating women then firstly you need to look at your mother . Am I wrong? In short: That is all for women. In wider meaning: That is how these special Day to further raise the awareness of Indonesian society or even the world - especially the women themselves - about women rights, their struggle for equality, and their important role in various spheres of life. This is also an occasion for Indonesian women to review how far their struggle get acknowledgment especially from the point of view of Indonesian tr...

If One Why Different

On Sunday, August 31, 2008, I heard a debate from my friends about religion. Each person maintained the opinion that his religion was the most relevant in this century. Wow... like never ending story. Then I asked to each of them: "How many God in this universe, according to you?" For a moment they were silent, and then partly answered "ONLY ONE". A person among them wanted to debate my question, but I stay persistent with my question. Then he also answered "ONLY ONE". Then I replied to them: "If one, why we must be different and this is my BIG question to you all for debate". Think about the Greenpeace organization. They cares to our earth, our grandchild's future and does not see about your nationality. Also about Mother Teresa from Calcutta, India. She really cares to the poor, no matter where they came from or what is their nationality. I'm dreaming of ONE-DAY... NO VISA, NO PASSPORT, NO DIFFERENCES, NO POLITICAL INTRIGUE, NO WAR, bec...
